Love an orphan story? Here is the tale of a wonderful trans-English-Channel old dresser base. Destitute in a gloomy UK antique warehouse, we took our intuitive punt, and shipped her home to Aotearoa. A loving kiwi restoration and she is glorious yet again! French in origin, chestnut and oak, with inlaid front façade borders, and later 19th century Gaelic carvings. Spice drawers along the rack, plenty of drawer and cupboards with bun feet beneath. Fantastic rustic rubbed patina. Plenty of historic worm holes; but given her rags to riches story, me thinks she will out live us all with her bumps and cuts and grazes. Circa 1750 originally, later 19 & 21 Century restorations.
